MDOT officially broke ground on what will soon be a bridge over the railroad tracks at S. Pearson and Childre roads. For years trains have blocked the intersection and slowed the response time of Police, Fire and Ambulance services to calls. This new flyover, when complete, will not only serve public safety but become an economic driver for Rankin County. Mayor Jake Windham was on hand along with Central District Transportation Commissioner Willie Simmons, MDOT Interim Director Jeff Altman, Sen. Dean Kirby, Rep. Gene Newman and Richland Mayor Pat Sullivan.
