The Urban Forestry Department strives to protect, preserve, enhance, and nurture Pearl’s urban forest by utilizing best management practices and the most up-to-date scientific research. The Urban Forestry Department maintains existing robust forest, extracts dying or diseased trees, and replants with a diverse species selection in an effort to promote our most important renewable resource as well as sustain our forest for today and future generations.

The department is also responsible for maintaining trees in parks and facilities, trees coexisting with electrical facilities, and community outreach and education.
