Urban Forestry

The Urban Forestry Department was formed to protect, preserve, enhance, and nurture the city of Pearl’s urban forest by utilizing best management practices and the most up-to-date scientific research. Staff maintains existing vigorous trees, removes dead/diseased/dying trees, and replants with a diverse species selection in an effort to promote our most important renewable resource as well as sustain our forest for today and future generations.

The department is also responsible for maintaining trees in parks and around facilities, trees coexisting with electrical facilities, rights of way trees, and community outreach and education.
