Job Description:

The City of Pearl is seeking a talented and creative Videographer / AV Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Communications Department, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in capturing and producing high-quality video content as well as programming and producing radio station content that effectively communicates the city’s message to residents and the broader community.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Video Production: Plan, shoot, and edit videos for television broadcast, social media, and various purposes, including promotional materials, public service announcements, and informational videos.
  • AV Technology: Utilize advanced AV equipment and technology to enhance video production quality and ensure optimal audio-visual experiences.
  • Radio Station Programming: Work in the radio station to integrate video content seamlessly with radio programming. Coordinate video content that complements and enhances the overall radio station experience. Maintain and schedule playlist as well as produce several programs.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Demonstrate proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other relevant software for video editing and graphic design.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the communications team as well as other city departments to understand project requirements and contribute creative ideas to achieve the City’s communication goals.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and organize video and AV equipment, ensuring proper functionality and readiness for use.
  • Content Planning: Participate in the development of content plans and scripts for video projects, ensuring alignment with the City’s communication objectives.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure all productions meet established standards and guidelines.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. However, an Associate’s degree with several years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a Videographer with a portfolio showcasing diverse video projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other relevant software is a must.
  • Proficient in operating professional video and audio equipment.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and other elements of videography.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Windows, Mac OS, and Microsoft office.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to bring innovative ideas to video production.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
